    Summary:
  • Geo Genesis marks the realization of a decentralized platform where knowledge is organized into dynamic, interconnected knowledge graphs.

Today, The Graph launches Geo Genesis, a transformative application for organizing knowledge on web3 rails. Geo Genesis empowers anyone, regardless of technical expertise, to participate in creating and managing “Spaces” — collaborative hubs designed for organizing, sharing, and governing knowledge.

The Graph was founded with a vision to enable knowledge in web3. After years of technological refinement, including the recent establishment of the GRC-20 data standard, the foundation has turned its vision into reality. With the launch of Geo Genesis, The Graph enables a new wave of decentralized applications centered around knowledge rather than just assets.

Introducing Geo Genesis

Geo Genesis is a consumer-friendly web application that allows users to create and manage knowledge directly on The Graph. At its core, Geo enables Spaces, collaborative hubs where communities can gather, share, and govern knowledge. These spaces foster collaboration and enable decentralized governance at scale, featuring built-in governance tools using the modular Aragon OSx framework that ensure communities can reach consensus effectively. Over time, each space will have customizable governance processes, providing the building blocks for reusable and interconnected knowledge that aligns with the principles of verifiability, openness, and composability.

Geo is designed with accessibility in mind, making it usable by everyone, not just developers. This means anyone can now contribute to the organization of knowledge on web3.

Knowledge Graphs Are the Core of Web3

As Yaniv Tal, co-founder of The Graph and founder of Geo, has highlighted, web3 is fundamentally about information and the launch of Geo Genesis marks the realization of a decentralized platform where knowledge is organized into dynamic, interconnected knowledge graphs. The recently published GRC-20 standard empowers knowledge graphs in web3 by creating a unified framework that promotes interoperability, adaptability, and composability of information across decentralized applications, enabling dynamic knowledge spaces that can evolve with community needs.

What’s Next?

Geo Genesis is launching for early access with a default governance process to empower communities. The initial governance consists of Editors and Members. Editors are the experts that vote in governance and Members are participants that can help contribute to a space. People can request invites during this stage to receive early access to join and create initial spaces. Anyone can browse to see what has been added to the knowledge graph and how it was governed.

Out of the gate, an initial set of Editors are curating Crypto News to showcase how knowledge graphs can be used to more effectively structure news stories and associated facts. As the platform evolves, communities will gain the ability to fully customize their governance frameworks. Early adopters are encouraged to explore Spaces and shape the next phase of decentralized knowledge sharing.
