- Summary:
- The Pi Coin Network has continued to remain mysteriouis despite a similar project launching earlier this year that was using its name.
The Pi Coin Network continues to be one of the largest crypto-communities, with millions of miners and a huge social media presence. However, despite its large following, the platform has failed to launch its mainnet to the public since it came into existence, causing jitters to some of its users.
Pi Coin Launch Controversy
The delay in launching their mainnet resulted in other platforms/ organizations taking advantage and launching their own token with the same name and branding as the Pi Coin platform. The fake Pi Coin project was also able to quickly get listed on some of the biggest crypto exchanges in the world, including Huobi and XT.com.
The launch of the Pi Coin token by unauthorized entities caused a stir in the markets, with millions of Pi Coin community members wondering if the project’s mainnete had been made public. The Pi Network, through its social media account, had to release a statement warning its users about the token.
However, the launch of the token also reminded its millions of users what they have been waiting for the past few years. WIth the project having stayed in a private mainnet for years, without providing the dates on when it will go live, and become accessible to its users, some people have gone on to term the project as a scam.
Some of the reasons they cite as making the project a scam has included the lack of clear communication. Some, they view the project as harvesting their users’ data and selling it to third parties, where they are able to profit.
The Pi Coin Forecast
Despite the criticism, most people remain optimistic that the project will be launched in the future. However, as of today, the Pi Coins tokens that most of its users have mined remains worthless.
In case it is launched in the near future, my price expectation is for it to plummet quickly. I also do not expect it to open higher than a $0.1 price due to the number of users already possessing the coin.
